Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA):
BIDA is the government agency of Bangladesh, responsible for the promotion and facilitating of private investment in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority was established by the Bangladesh government on September 1, 2016.it was established under the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Act. The Board of Investment and the Privatization Commission were merged. The governing body consists of 17 members and chaired by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the Vice-Chairman of the Minister of Finance.
Foreign investors must register with BIDA. In order to conduct business in Bangladesh, many licenses and permits must be obtained from BIDA.
For example (a) opening a branch (b) opening a liaison or representative office (c) setting up a factory or industry (d) setting up a 100% foreign limited liability company (e) setting up a joint venture (f) issuing a foreigner work permit ( g) Import registration certificate(h) Export registration certificate and bond license, etc.
BIDA registration also requires obtaining an industrial location in a special economic zone. Investors must obtain the BIDA application form and send it to the BIDA authority together with the supporting documents.
